On Monday 31st December, Head of the al-Wadi Maleh village council in the Northern Jordan Valley, Aref Daraghmeh, said that Israeli authorities issued a decision to deport around 1000 Palestinians from their homes, and to be executed on Wednesday 2nd January.
Daraghmeh also said that few days ago, the Israeli authorities delivered the Palestinians written evacuation warnings, in order to evacuate their lands for military training purposes.
He revealed that Palestinians will be deported from several areas in the Jordan valley including: Wadi Maleh, Ein Hilwah, Wadi al-Faw, al-Maita, al-Burj and other areas.
It's worth mentioning that this deportation process is considered the biggest of all the other mass deportations carried out through this summer, as the Israeli authorities forced dozens of families to leave their homes and move to other areas until the military trainings finish as they claimed, but their lands were confiscated and they couldn't return to their homes.
The Jordan valleys have been witnessing deportations and demolitions processes since 1967.
British Olympic hero held as suspected terrorist by US

Farah, a British citizen who won two gold medals for running during London
2012 was held by US customs when leaving the country to see his family for
Christmas, as they suspected he might be a terrorist, because he was born in
Somalia. Farah, a British Olympic hero who has been awarded a CBE by the
Queen, was detained for questioning in the US after border officials saw he was
born in Somalia.
A CBE stands for Most Excellent Oder of the British Empire and means the person it is awarded to can
be called “sir” or “dame”. It is awarded to people who have done something
remarkable for the UK, in any profession or walk of life.
Farah, who won
the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at London 2012, came to Britain from Somalia with
his British born father as a child.
29 year old Farah moved to Portland
in the northwestern US state of Oregon last year to work with his coach Alberto
Salazar at Nike’s HQ. He was travelling back to spend Christmas with his wife
and children. But even after presenting the
overzealous officials with his two gold medals didn’t help his cause.
“I couldn’t believe it. Because of my Somali origin I get detained
every time I come through US customs. This time I even got my medals out to show
who I am, but they wouldn’t have it,” he told the UK newspaper the Sun.
Farah had similar problems with US customs when he tried to get a
residency permit to live in Portland. Along with his family he visited Portland
as a tourist, before they exited the country to go to Toronto in Canada, only
then returning again as authorized residents.
When they returned they
were told they were under investigation as a terrorist threat. “Nike
signed it all off and we thought it was going to be straight forward.But when we
got there we got a letter telling us we were under investigation as a terrorist
threat and we would have to stay away for 90 days,” Farah said.
In
desperation he got in touch with Coach Alberto Salazar.
“As luck
would have it Alberto has a friend who works for the FBI. This guy happens to be
a massive running fan, knew exactly who I was and got it sorted then and
there,” said Mo.
The New Year honors award comes after his double
Olympic gold and public popularity failed to
get him into the top three of the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year.
“I suppose it is
a difficult one to get my head round but it doesn’t upset me. It’s because each
and every person in the lineup deserved to win, it was such a strong year and
Bradley Wiggins is a phenomenal athlete,” said Farah in reference to the
cycling superstar who came top in the BBC’s award.
But he was ecstatic at
being awarded a CBE, “I’m blown away, so honored,” he

This stunning information was disclosed at the UK Chilcot inquiry by the testimony of Foreign Affairs leading legal advisor, Sir Michael Wood, who added that the reply from Prime Minister Tony Blair’s office to his legal department’s professional work was chastisement for putting their unanimous legal opinion in writing.
Sir Michael testified that Foreign Secretary Jack Straw preferred to take the legal position that the laws governing war were vague and open to broad interpretation: "He took the view that I was being very dogmatic and that international law was pretty vague and that he wasn't used to people taking such a firm position.”
Mr. Straw’s opinion is an Orwellian lie of the crystal-clear letter and spirit of the UN Charter that outlawed wars of choice in 1945. The UN Charter forbids all use of force except when explicitly authorized by the UN Security Council, or in a narrow definition of self-defense upon an armed attack by another nation’s government. This is arguably the single most important and clear law on the planet, the victory of the generation who sacrificed during World War 2, and damning criminal testimony for anyone in government to claim that this law is vague.
Violation of the laws to prevent war, a War of Aggression and a Crime Against Peace, are also arguably to worst crime a nation can commit.
UK Attorney General Lord Goldsmith testified he "changed his mind" against the unanimous legal opinion of all 27 of the Foreign Office attornies to agree with the US legal argument that UN Security Council Resolution 1441 authorized use of force at the discretion of any nation’s choice. This testimony is also criminally damning: arguing that an individual nation has the right to choose war violates the purpose, letter and spirit of the UN Charter, as well as violates 1441 that reaffirms jurisdiction of the Security Council in governance of the issue. This Orwellian argument contradicts the express purpose of the Charter to prevent individual nations from engaging in wars. If there is a further Iraqi breach of its disarmament obligations, the matter will return to the Council for discussion as required in paragraph 12.
The Chilcot inquiry was initiated from public outrage against UK participation in the Iraq War, with public opinion having to engage a second time to force hearings to become public rather than closed and secret. The hearings were not authorized to consider criminal charges, which is the next battle for UK public opinion.
The cost of these unlawful wars is over a million Iraqi lives above those expected to have died in pre-war conditions and $3-$5 TRILLION in long-term US taxpayer costs (that's $30,000 to $50,000 per average US household of $50,000 annual income; do the math to figure your family's share). US Senate and House Committee investigation has shown through all disclosed evidence that all of the justifications for war with Iraq were known to be lies at the time they were presented to the public. You are an irresponsible citizen if you do not verify these easily-understood facts from the disclosed evidence. "Syrian Colaition": USA has to reconsider its decision to list Jabhat Al-Nusra, Al-Qaeda branch, as terrorist!
So, by transition, USA recognized the Jabhat Al-Nusra as legitimate representative of Syrian people! Even the members of coalition published this recognition in media adding the word: SOLE, so they consider themselves: SOLE representative of Syrian people! Viva democracy! GIven that at least 60% of Syrian people are still pro their president, while most of the remainder 40% are NOT recognizing any of the members of the coalition!
The coalition consists of members whose majority live outside Syria, many of them have other nationality, and have no popular background inside Syria, most of their figures are unknown for the most of Syrian people. The boss of this coalition is a Muslim clerk. Most of them have been begging NATO for making a military intervention in the country, knowing very well the catastrophic results of such an intervention and that there will be massacres country-wide because the militant opposition on Earth is "Jihadist" in nature that is fighting for sectarian motivations (Jihad against the Nusayri, the term they use to mean Alawites) to impose "Islamic Sunni state" as declared by them and they consider they are authorized to kill, abduct, slaughter, loot any non-Sunni Syrian, although their fighters may be from Afghan, Chechnia, Turkey, Libya ... as they did in many Alawite/Chiia and Christian villages in Syria in the countryside of Homs, Hamah and Lattakia.
When USA listed Al-Nusra, a branch of Al-Qaeda, as a terrorist group, a Muslim-Brothers member of the coalition itself recognized by USA, defended Al-Nusra and recommended USA to reconsider its "unjust decision"!!! Although Al-Nusra admitted and declared its responsibility of the bombings and atrocities against both military soldiers and civilians. For instance, they described the terrirst attacks against civil women, children in the quarter Mazzeh 86 in Damascus in the name of Jihad for sectarian reasons! So, according to them, their counterpart citizens are strangers in their country while the Afghan, Libyan, Turkish fighters are the nationals!
By Ismail Salami Terrorism is terrorism and it cannot be defined otherwise unless the interests of one party tilt the scale in disfavor of another and the dichotomization of the terrorists in Syria into good and bad by the West casts doubt on its claim on democracy.
In a somber political tone, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov lashed out as “absolutely unacceptable” the West’s support for the terrorists in Syria in his exclusive interview with Russia Today.
“It’s absolutely unacceptable, and if we follow this logic it might lead us to a very dangerous situation not only in the Middle East but in other parts of the world, if our partners in the West would begin to qualify terrorists as bad terrorists and acceptable terrorists,” the Russian foreign minister said.
The dichotomization of such a grave issue by the West is almost nothing new. The delisting of MKO, a long-considered terrorists group, by Washington is in line with this process of redefining well-established concepts and terms by the West.
Paradoxically, the MKO has been supported by Washington even when it was on the terrorist list. They even received their training at the hands of the Bush administration.
In a enlightening article, Seymour Hersh showed that US Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) trained members of the Iranian Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MKO) at a secretive site in Nevada from 2005 to at least 2007. According to Hersh, MKO members “were trained in intercepting communications, cryptography, weaponry and small unit tactics at the Nevada site up until President Obama took office.”
In a separate interview, a retired four-star general said that he had been privately briefed in 2005 about the training of MKO members in Nevada by an American involved in the program. He said that they got “the standard training in commo, crypto [cryptography], small-unit tactics, and weaponry—that went on for six months. They were kept in little pods.” He also was told, he said, that the men doing the training were from JSOC, which, by 2005, had become a major instrument in the Bush Administration’s global war on terror.
To the dismay and disappointment of many, US State Department decided in September to remove the MKO from the terror lists.
US State Department said its decision to delist the group was made because the group has not committed any terrorist acts for a decade and brashly whitewashed the fact that the group has been to all intents and purposes instrumental in carrying out nuclear assassinations in the last few years in Iran. Although the group has never officially assumed responsibility for the assassinations (which is quite natural), there is solid evidence suggesting that it has been complicit in these terrorist acts.
The terrorist group made unrelenting efforts for years to be removed from the terror list and enlisted a number of Republican and Democratic officials to lobby on its behalf. Instead of paying lobbying fees to them, “it offered honoraria ranging from $10,000-$50,000 per speech to excoriate the US government for its allegedly shabby treatment of the MEK. Among those who joined the group’s gravy train are former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell, Rudy Giuliani, Alan Dershowitz, and former FBI director Louis Freeh. Many of them profess to have little interest in the money they have collected” (Richard Silverstein, The Guardian September 22, 20212).
MKO has long been engaging in a series of sabotage and terrorist activities against the Islamic Republic in league with Israeli intelligence agencies.
In January 2012, Benny Gantz, the Israeli Defense Forces chief of staff, told a parliamentary committee: “For Iran, 2012 is a critical year in combining the continuation of its nuclearisation, internal changes in the Iranian leadership, continuing and growing pressure from the international community and things which take place in an unnatural manner.”
The MKO has reportedly assassinated over 12,000 Iranian citizens, seven American citizens, and tens of thousands of Iraqi nationals.
Anyhow, the dichotomization of ‘terrorists’ into good and bad is far uglier than any form of apartheid.
A comparatively similar story is being repeated in Syria. Washington has branded the Qatar-funded Al-Nusra Front as a terrorist organization. But why? They are fighting against the government of Bashar al-Assad together with other militants in Syria who are chiefly composed of foreign mercenaries. The former are considered terrorists simply because they to a large extent fly in the face of Washington’s policies in Syria. So, it is Washington or the US-led West which decides who is a terrorist and who is not.
Let us not forget that the notorious al Qaeda which is sowing seeds of blind extremism and religious sectarianism in the world was founded and financially supported in the seventies by Washington and CIA in an apparent bid to fight the Soviets. Robin Cook laments the creation of al Qaeda and says, “Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally “the database”, was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden’s organization would turn its attention to the west.”
This CIA-created Frankenstein’s monster has not changed but has grown up monstrously.
Truly known to be one of the most misinterpreted and misused words, terrorism is defined and refined by the West according to the context where it proves deleterious or beneficial to those who define the term.

A political analyst tells Press TV that the Syrian opposition has no intention of democracy and they will create instability and tremendous human suffering which will also spread to other countries in the region.
The comments came after the political arm of foreign-sponsored militants fighting against the Syrian government rejected an invitation from Russia for peace talks. Moaz al-Khatib, whose group is supported by certain Western states and their regional allies like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, said that he had declined the Russian offer and wanted an “apology” from Moscow for what it described as Russia’s support for the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Randy Short, member of the Dignity, Human Rights and Peace Organization, to further discuss the issue. What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.
Press TV: We have Russia calling on the opposition to prepare for dialogue, but the opposition says regime change is its main goal, and it does this through terror attacks, by attacking civilian homes and turning them into insurgent hideouts. So just how can such an opposition be advocating peace and democracy in Syria?
Short: They are not advocating peace and democracy. That is the propagandistic doublespeak that the World War talks about 1984 coming from the Untied States and its partner NATO. They have no intention of democracy. It is not practiced in this country. Why would they be able to export it some place else?
We have got an imperialistic country on steroids with these Salafists killers carrying out their agenda. Press TV: And the question is if regime change does happen and Assad is toppled, what will the circumstances on the ground be?
Short: God forbid, a situation worse than Libya, worse than Somalia, worse than the problems in Iraq, a sectarian killing, clan killing, just genocide of minority groups and also this will spread as it is spreading to Lebanon and to Jordan and it will create instability and tremendous human suffering of which I can imagine it will also spread to Iraq. Press TV: We also hear that Turkey has deployed Patriot missiles along its border with Syria. How detrimental will this be to Turkey itself?
Short: Well I have said it before, Erdogan is a self hating Turk who wishes he was white, who is willing to destroy his country to get pat on the head by the European nations that will never accept him.
These Patriot missiles if you ask me are not meant for Syria, they are meant to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran in the future. يطلّ علينا كل يوم عشرات الرجال من أشباه المومياء، يحيضون على المنابر السياسية والدينية فيتبعهم رعاع القوم المنساقين الى حفلات العلف الاعلامي المركّز عبر شاشات الاسطبلات التلفزية .. هؤلاء يعرفهم الجميع، لا خوف منهم، أفظع ما يستطيعون فعله هو دفع رجل منهار الى الانتحار على عتبات دمشق .. لكن المصيبة الجلل، و الطامة الكبرى تأتي من داخلنا، من قلب منازلنا، من أشخاص لطالما ظننا أن كسرة الخبز التي اقتسمناها معهم ستلين أنيابهم و تقلّم أظافرهم فأخطأنا ..

انتهت المعركة بما يفوق الخمسين الف قتيل من جيش الروم مقابل خمسة آلاف قتيل من جيش قرطاج (2)، قد يكون هذا الرقم طبيعياً في حرب كبرى ، لكن اذا ما علمنا ان جيش هانيبعل كان أقل من نصف جيش الروم فحينها سنعلم أهمية ما جرى على تلك البقعة من الارض
كان هانيبعل قائداً عظيماً علم أن جيوش الروم وحلفائهم تفوق جيوشه، فماذا فعل؟
أعاد ترتيب جيشه بعد دراسة جيوش الروم، فجعل خطته مبنية على خدعة عسكرية، خدعة الكماشة أو الهلال، خدعة تقوم على سحب العدو للمنتصف و الاحاطة به و سحقه. و هكذا بدأ هانيبعل بامتصاص هجوم الروم على منتصف جيشه، بتراجع قواته رويداً رويداً، حتى يظهر للروم أنهم قد نجحوا باختراق المنتصف و أن جيش هانيبعل منهزم منهار، فيندفعون بعزم و يقعون في وسط الهلال .. الهلال الذي جعل هانيبال طرفيه ينقضان على جيش الروم فتقطع كل دقيقة ستمائة رقبة من رقابهم ، بين فارس و مقاتل، حتى قتل منهم ما يفوق الخمسين الفاً و أسر عشرة آلاف .. و انهار جيش الروم .. و ربح هانيبعل ..

للصدفة أن يكون بدء الهجوم الناري على سورية في منتصفها، و أن يمتص الجيش العربي السوري الهجوم الأول و يوقع كتائب مهاجميه بين فكي كماشة، لها مخرج واحد مفروض علينا اسمه لبنان، فإما أن يُقتل العدو و اما أن يهرب، حتى كان انتصار بابا عمرو الشهير .. هذا نصر أم ليس نصر؟
للصدفة أيضاً ان يتراجع الجيش العربي السوري في منطقة ريف دمشق رويداً رويداً ، حتى يتيح لأعدائه التجمع في منطقة واحدة مغلقة اسمها داريا، ثم يسحق منهم في يوم واحد اربعة آلاف .. ربما كان سيحتاج الى اكثر من شهر في سحقهم لو كانوا موزعين على القرى مع بقية الاسرى و الجرحى و الهاربين ..
للصدفة أيضاً ما حصل و يحصل كل يوم و ما نسمعه ونسمع عنه كل ساعة عن تراجع للجيش العربي السوري في منطقة فتأكلنا الشكوك و نبدأ في توليد النظريات، من الخيانة الى التواطؤ، و حين نقترب من الهزيمة النفسية يفاجئنا رجال الحق بنصر من عند الله، لكن ضعفنا و احساسنا بالذنب يمنعنا كل مرة عن التساؤل كيف حدث هذا؟
للصدفة أيضاً ربما أن يكون أحد قادة الفرق التي انتصر بها هانيبعل اسمه ماهربعل ..
كان ماهربعل في المعركة يشغل بفرسانه النوميديين الجناح الأيسر الذي يقوده القيصر الروماني فارون. لم يكن يريد من مناوشاته غير الالهاء، لأنه لم يهجم، ولم يفسح للرومان مجال الهجوم، فكان يتظاهر بالهجوم ثم ينكفىء شارداً في السهل، ثم يعود متأهباً. وظل كذلك حتى اجهز آزروبعل على الجناح الروماني الايمن ، وانطلق في السهل، وراء الرومان، كأنه في حلبة سباق، ثم جاء يضرب الجناح الروماني الأيسر من الوراء. فتضعضع فرسان فارون، ودب الرعب في قلوبهم، اذ اطبق عليهم آزروبعل وماهربعل، فاستسلموا للسيوف تضرب اعناقهم، وللرماح تغوص في صدورهم، ولحوافرالخيل تدوس هاماتهم، واضطر فارون ان يلوذ بالفرار على رأس خمسين فارسا، تاركا وراءه الجيش الروماني يتخبط في افدح كارثة حلت بروما(3).
كل تلك كانت محض صدف لا أكثر، فالتاريخ لا يعيد نفسه في نظر الجبناء و ان أعاد نفسه فلا نعتبر من حدث لننقذ أنفسنا مما سيليه. بالله عليكم قولوا لي أي لسان فينا أشرف و أطهر و أقدس من لسان جندي عربي سوري يصيح الله أكبر و هو يصد عنا رصاص أعتى جيوش الأرض؟
يقولون لكم أنهم مرتزقة .. فتصدقون .. هؤلاء المرتزقة يا سادتي تلقوا تدريبات في معسكرات في ليبيا و تركيا و كوسوفو و الشيشان و أفغانستان على القتال و الحرب و استخدام أفضل أنواع الأجهزة العسكرية و التكنولوجية .. هؤلاء المرتزقة يقودهم ضباط استخبارات امريكيون و فرنسيون و بريطانيون و ألمان و أتراك ناهيك عن حاشيتهم من حجّاب العرب .. هؤلاء المرتزقة الذين يبهروننا كل يوم بأنهم لا ينقصون حتى لو قتلنا منهم كل يوم ألفاً و ألفين هم ليسوا سوى جيش الروم، أتاكم باولوس هذه المرة بلحية و عباءة فهل تغير قلب باولوس؟
لا أحد في الكون يمكنه الجزم بان لا خيانات تحدث هنا او هناك، و لكن .. هل انتهت الحرب؟ كيف لأمة أن تنتصر و هي تخوّن رجالها وسط الحرب؟ كيف لها أن ترفع سيفاً يجز رقاب المعتدرين عليها و أصابع أيديها مختلفة على اسم متّهم بالخيانة هنا و هناك؟ ..
حسناً .. ولكن .. ما بالك ان كنت تستطيع بدلاً من أن تشتت جيشك في ملاحقة مجموعاتهم التي بلغت عشرات الآلاف، فيقع رجالك في كمائن أعدائهم المنصوبة بين مساكن المدنيين، فلا يستطيعون اطلاق النار و لا يستطيعون الفرار، أن تترك لأعدائك قطعة من الجبن، و تبتعد عنها كأنك مهزوم، و حين يتجمعون حولها ان لم يقتتلوا عليها و يقتلوا بعضهم البعض تقتلهم بسيفك ..؟ ما بالك؟ .. أن تضحي بعشرة من رجالك الذين نذروا أنفسهم للتضحية ليبقى ألف غيرهم أحياء يقتصون لدمهم اقتصاص الشرفاء .. وصمة عار هي هذه؟
هرم الحبر في قلمي و أنا أحاول الكتابة بلغة الضاد و ما هرم العزم في قلوب الرجال. لست ممن احترفوا الكتابة و لم أجدها يوماً. لكنني في كل مرة أنكفئ فيها على نفسي و أطفئ موقدتي يعتريني برد العار من همم الرجال الرجال في ساحات الأرض المقدسة .. أنظر بعين مختنقة بالدمع الى كأس الشاي الساخن و أكفّر نفسي التي تشرب .. هيهات لنا أن نمسي رجالاً مثل هؤلاء الرجال .. و كم منكم سيقف بعد كل هذا ليسأل عمن تتحدث؟ .. و هل هناك في غير هذه الأرض من أبطال؟
الآن ربما أكسر قلمي، و أضعه في جيبي، فحين تفكّر بعقل عدوك تدرك أن حبر الرصاص أبلغ من كلام الضعفاء من أصحاب الياقات الصفراء .. فهل بلّغت؟

Various Western, Arab and Israeli media reports have been claiming for over a month now that Israeli special forces are on the ground in Syria in an effort to keep tabs on its chemical weapons stockpile.
Those reports mesh well with news that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited neighboring Jordan this week to discuss with King Abdullah a possible air strike on the bulk of Syria's weapons of mass destruction. Such an air strike would require targeting groups to be on the ground.
On Thursday, Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Ya'alon said that American forces were also gearing up for possible intervention in Syria should the embattled regime of dictator Bashar Assad employ chemical weapons against rebels.
US President Barack Obama has already stated that the use of chemical weapons by Assad would be a "red line."
Despite a flurry of reports earlier this week that Assad's forces had in fact used chemical weapons against rebels in several battles, Ya'alon told Israel Radio that there was no evidence of this being true. More likely, the reports were an attempt to elicit attacks on Assad's regime by outside forces.
For Israel, the real fear is that Syria's sizable chemical weapons stockpile will fall into the hands of the rebels, who are turning out not to be the "good-guy freedom fighters" many in the West portray them as.
"It is enough that only a tiny percentage of [Syria's chemical weapons] fall into the hands of elements that are part of the Global Jihad organizations and find a way outside of Syria to create an unprecedented terror threat," wrote security expert Amir Rapaport in the journal Israel Defense.
On Sunday, the Jordan-based leader of one of the Syrian rebel groups said that after toppling Assad, Syria's new rulers will turn their guns on Israel.
"We tell Benjamin Netanyahu...get ready. The army of the Prophet Mohammad is coming your way," declared Abed Shihadeh, who added that after "taking Damascus" his group and its allies will "head for Tel Aviv."
These are the same groups that, as they fight against Assad, are also threatening and persecuting local Christians.
For instance, this week a rebel group posted a video on the Internet warning the Christian towns of Mharda and Sqilbiya to stop permitting Syrian government forces to take up positions there (as if they have a choice) or face a merciless rebel attack.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that the two threatened towns used to have populations in the tens of thousands, but that most locals have already fled.
A UN investigation concluded this week that Syria's civil war is becoming increasingly sectarian, and that minority groups, like Christians, are in more danger than ever.
Top rebel leaders rejected that assessment and insisted that the revolution is "neither bloody nor sectarian."
However, Egyptian television recently aired an address by one Syrian rebel leader, Ahmad Al Baghdadi Al Hassani, who warned that Syria's Christians are "friends of the Zionists" and must choose between "Islam and death."

Brahimi Urges ‘Real’ Change in Syria, Transition Government
International peace envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi called for a “real” change in Syria, urging the formation of a transition government with full powers until elections can be held. "We need to form a government with all powers... which assumes power during a period of transition. That transition period will end with (presidential or parliamentary) elections," Brahimi told reporters at a news conference in Damascus, during his latest bid to end to Syria’s turmoil.
The Algerian diplomat had arrived in Syria on Sunday for his first visit to the country since October.
"Change should not be cosmetic; the Syrian people need and require real change, and everyone understands that,” Brahimi said on the fifth day of his latest peace mission to Syria.
"The transition period should not lead to the collapse of the state and its institutions," he said, adding the initiative was incomplete.
"We prefer... a project whose facilitation the parties have agreed upon, and, if they do not, the last solution is going to the (UN) Security Council which will make a binding resolution."
Brahimi is to hold talks on Saturday with Moscow at the request of the envoy, Russia's foreign ministry said. ------

Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Fayssal Miqdad held on Thursday talks at the Russian foreign ministry, as Moscow denied existence of a joint plan with the United States to end the crisis in the country. Russian foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Miqdad held talks in the morning at the foreign ministry in Moscow, adding that the results would be announced later in the day..... Miqdad was heading a Syrian government delegation during the talks. The meeting came amid a flurry of end-of-year diplomacy in Russia over the Syrian crisis that will also see talks between international envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and Lavrov on Saturday. Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr is also arriving in Moscow later on Thursday for a visit that will include talks and a news conference with Lavrov on Friday.Meanwhile, Russia denied the existence of a joint plan with the United States concerning solving Syria crisis, after Western media reported a new Russia-US initiative that would see Assad stay in power until 2014 while preventing him from further renewing his mandate. However, Lukashevich vehemently denied the existence of any such plan.
"There was not and is not such a plan and it is not being discussed," he said, adding that Russia's Syria policy was still based on an accord with world powers made back in June for an inter-Syrian dialogue. ---------- Meanwhile, Russian Ships to Stage Anti-Terror Drills off Syria Coast the Defense Ministry announced. The ministry said the war games will involve anti-submarine, anti-ship and air defense exercises in the Mediterranean, where a group of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet vessels are being deployed.
Two Russian large landing ships, Nikolai Filchnekov and Azov, passed on Thursday through the Bosporus and Dardanelles on their way to the eastern Mediterranean where they are to join a Black Sea Fleet detachment, consisting of guard missile cruiser Moskva, patrol ship Smetlivy, tanker Ivan Bubnov and a BS-406 tugboat.

In Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stressed that the solution for the ongoing Syria crisis would not be a foriegn one. Talking to press following a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Salehi said that Iran has been taking careful measures to ensure the ongoing turmoil in Syria, stressing the crisis will be resolved through a Syria-Syria solution, Mehr news agency reported.
He said a meeting among the foreign ambassadors in Iran has been arranged in order to discuss Tehran’s six-point plan for Syria.
“Our plan is comprehensive and takes into consideration all aspects of the issue,” the Iranian foreign minister added. On December 16, Iran unveiled the details of a six-point plan to resolve the ongoing crisis in Syria, which calls for an immediate end to all violent and armed acts.
He also said that Iran’s proposal was similar to international envoy Lakhdar Brahimi’s one. “In the frame work of this plan, other sub-plans are workable, Brahimi’s visit to Syria being among them, since we have given him the plan as proposal before,” the Iranian FM noted.
“ Currently, we are negotiating with Brahimi, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and other countries with an interest in the Syrian issue to implement the proposal,” he said.
Salehi admitted that the implementation of the plan was difficult, but he believed that Islamic Republic of Iran was acting in a way that parties to solution were Syrian-Syrian, and no other foreign version would be forced on solution. “Foreigners should better know this,” he said.
“The west now sees itself with extremism in Syria which commits heinous crimes. Of course, everybody knows well who supports the extremism,” he added.
